[Text nur in englischer Sprache verfügbar] Gianluca Cillo is a visual artist and VJ with over ten years of experience in audiovisual arts and live performance.
He began his career producing and projecting visuals for the electronic band She's a Man, while simultaneously entering the club circuit as a VJ for internationally renowned techno artists such as Joseph Capriati and Oscar Mulero, working alongside crews from Avellino and Rome.
In 2011 he founded Kanaka Project, a collective of visual and sound artists selected for some of the most significant audiovisual festivals in Italy and beyond: Kernel Festival, Robot Festival, Flussi Festival. For two editions he served on the artistic committee of Glowwarp Festival, contributing two videomapping installations. The collective has taken part in numerous cultural events including Periferica — with a video set for the exhibition of Enrico Cosmi (Tau Ceti) — and La Notte dei Musei 2014 at GNAM in Rome, for the performance Fotosintesi, un amore incondizionato.
He participated in two editions of Oddstream Festival as video producer, and in two editions of LPM – Live Performers Meeting, first with a label showcase, then with two original AV sets.
In 2016 he directed the official music video for Bakano, from the album Gonzo [RICARICA] by Capibara for White Forest Records, featured in Wired Italia.
In 2017 he founded his solo project Cibong Visuals (J-CIBONG when performing live), inaugurated with a video teaser for Peter Murphy, created in collaboration with Simone Tripodi. Under this project he participated as an artist in two editions of the Art Vision Contest, part of Circle of Light, an international festival dedicated to mapping and projections held every year in Moscow.
He is currently working on productions for the theatre in collaboration with Siliana Crocchianti, and developing a new AV set, Curved Grooves.
