We are interested in abstract art, street art, electronic arts and net art. "Poikilos" comes from "poikilia", a greek term that ancients, ambiguously, used to appoint variety, multiplicity, irregularity both in a positive and a negative way. Specifically in arts, "poikilia" was used both in music and visive arts, to highlight, in an artwork, his originality, in the same way that the term "picturesque" was used in the XIX century. To us "poikilia" is a fondamental quality regarding to art. Because of this we fight aganist standardized, rational, formal and tecnical aesthetics of neocapitalism.
Perfect geometric figures, hierarchical and linear structures, clear imagines, pure colors are all attributes of the dominant digital aesthetic that reflects the obsession for control, possession and for the unity of neocapitalist society. Those are not absolutely intrinsic to digital art. With a concious (and critic) use of technology it can be found a form that has a meaning (and a aim) not just for personal gain, success or self -image feticism; a meaning which is not univocal, not compulsory for all, a meaning that could allow us to live free and healthy, a meaning that could help us respect all living beings.

Hurrah for the Asymmetry, for the Variety, for the Imperfect and the Raw!
