She teaches Visual Studies and Digital Culture, Media, Visual Culture and Sound Studies at the University of Bari Aldo Moro, where she also lectures in Visual and Multimedia Studies for the Master's Programme in Journalism.
She is Scientific Coordinator of the university's Gender Archive and coordinates the MEM – Music Media Library and the Dialogues of the BIG – Bari International Gender Festival. She is a visiting professor at UERJ in Rio de Janeiro and an associate researcher at Université Paul-Valéry in Montpellier.
Her pioneering research on techno and Afrofuturism has made a significant contribution to the Italian and international academic landscape. Her work explores gender issues, urban styles, electronic music, and contemporary visual cultures. As a curator, she collaborates with galleries, cultural institutions, and theatres.
Her publications include L’elettronica è donna. Media, corpi e pratiche transfemministe e queer (2022), L’estetica del malessere (2020), Un oscuro riflettere. Black Mirror e l’aurora digitale (2020), and Techno. Ritmi afrofuturisti (2008–2018).
