[Text nur in englischer Sprache verfügbar] A jellyfish floats above Rome, suspended in the air where the sea should not exist. Through WebAR, Fragility brings a delicate marine organism into the urban landscape, creating an unexpected encounter between the city and the ocean.
The jellyfish becomes a symbol of an ecosystem increasingly threatened by human activities: plastic waste, chemical contamination, underwater noise pollution, and environmental change. Its transparent body, both resilient and vulnerable, moves through a familiar space that is nevertheless foreign to its nature.
By transforming Rome into an imaginary habitat, the artwork invites us to reflect on the connection between urban life and marine ecosystems. What happens in the oceans is not distant from us: consumption, transportation, industry, and technology all leave profound traces beneath the surface.
Augmented reality thus becomes a tool for shifting perspectives, encouraging us to see the ocean not as a distant world, but as a living system whose fragility is deeply connected to our own.
