SoundLightSound
[Text nur in englischer Sprache verfügbar] SoundLightSound is one of a series of performances exploring different forms of feedback. It is an audio/visual performance based on data transformation. It is based on the fact that any data entering a computer can be transformed to any other kind of data, since everything becomes a number. Taking this thought as a starting point the performance aims at exploiting the most basic elements of artistic expression, sound and light, in their crudest forms, noise and white light, where one feeds the other as they constantly change forms - sound becomes light and light becomes sound.

Using the DMX protocol the amplitude of the sound controls the intensity of the light, both stereo, two speakers and two lights. An inductive pick up is attached to each light, detecting changes in the current that goes through, feeding the computer with sound created by the lights. This way an audio/visual feedback is being created with sound that comes from the workings of the machines, using no other sound source. The sound is being further manipulated with digital audio synthesis techniques, always using the sound currently fed to the computer and never recording into buffers.
