Orchestra of Samples
[Text nur in englischer Sprache verfügbar] Five years in the making and described as "ingenious and compelling" by UK newspaper The Times, 'Orchestra of Samples' is Addictive TV's new audio/video project.

Exploring new forms of collaboration, the duo filmed improvised recordings sessions with over 200 musicians around the world in over 25 countries, from West Africa to South America and across Europe (and even in the Himalayas), musicians playing all manner of different instruments, from the futuristic sound sculptures of the French Baschet Brothers to traditional Kazak dombyra. Addictive TV then sampled the hundreds of hours of recordings, seamlessly splicing musicians together to create new visual music, building a digital supergroup of international artists who never met, but are sampled, recontextualised and projected playing together on screen. Orchestra of Samples is a musical journey without borders.

Performances of the project have included at Russia's Erarta Museum of Contemporary Arts in St. Petersburg, French cultural institute Musee du Quai Branly in Paris and the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Rome for the Romaeuropa Festival 2014.
